Join us in celebrating one of Downtown Durham’s most popular spring family friendly extravaganzas. Each May, over 3500 people, from around the Triangle come together in Old North Durham Park to celebrate our community and all things Strawberry. We are thrilled to host our 2nd annual Strawberry 5K & Fun Run.
The route begins at 726 Rigsbee St and finishes at the school. The Fun Run begins at 9:00 am followed by the 5k at 9:30. Last year we had over 350 participants and we’re excited to bring it back by popular demand! J Parents, we will watch your children while you enjoy our scenic 5K!! Race finishers will enjoy a strawberry Locopop!!
Description of food & drink and post-race activities:
Race finishers will receive a free strawberry Locopop. We will also host a free Zumba dance jam, immediately following the race. The Strawberry Festival will take place from 11am-4pm. For more information, please visit http://www.cpscnc.org/Strawberry.
Race Charity:
All proceeds will go to Central Park School for Children’s Monarch fund, which will directly support opportunities and accessibility to various services at CPSC, such as transportation, nutrition, after-school care, camp/club scholarships, field trips and technology equipment.
